Your pen paints strokes of color
Upon my greyscaled heart
Flashes of red, green and blue
Reveal the genius of your art

Melancholy will not allow
This missive to reach the light
But, my dear, I want you to know
I’m thinking of you tonight

In the hush that remains
Are words of love unspoken
No hearts, no candy, no flowers
Given here as lover’s token

So secrecy will hide the pain
And silence will protect my pride
But you shall always be in my heart
Though never by my side

You know there are millions of people who don't have a special Valentine to share the day with - I hope that if you are alone, you will pen your own Valentine poem and send it to someone you care about. I'm going to print this and send it via snail mail to someone very special. Let's see if it's 'returned to sender'!
