The fresh country breezes
Caress your soft baby face.
Lifting your wispy fine hair,
And billowing curtains of lace.
You sleep so soundly,
Not a sound you make.
You're in a slumber wonderland
And it's not yet time to wake.
I watch you suck your tiny thumb,
I sit and watch in awe.
My sister's little miracle
Has captivated me once more.

My sister's baby is due any second now, and I'm sitting faithfully by the phone at almost midnight, as I have done for the last three nights, in case my Mum calls to tell me they're on the way to the hospital. I plan to embroider and frame this poem for bub.

Congratulations in advance, Bec...This is a beautiful tribute for a new baby...and you definitely should frame it and give it to your sister.  Is this her first?

Startime... Thank you for your kind words. The big event was actually supposed to be a few days ago! You guys will certainly hear all about it, although I suspect the very proud "Dee-ma" will beat me to it!

Dee-ma... *lol* couldn't resist that! I'm glad you think Ness will like it.

Noah... You always make such lovely comments. Thanks for reading!

Michael... I don't have a lot that I can give bub, but I'm hoping this is something that he/she will keep for a long time.

Siofra... It's really exciting for me, but you must be having double the excitement! My mum (Dee-ma) is loving it too, I'm sure!

Madame Chipmunk... This is Ness's first baby. It's going to be a while before I have kids, so I think I'll have to spoil this one for a while!

James... Thanks for reading. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks everyone! You'll certainly be hearing from us about the baby soon!

For obvious reasons I think its time to bump this back up.
