Move in and out of intolerable zones paradoxically comfort is not within reach for gents whose lives are bent on stress words of warning are issued when it comes to trips into unknown waters We lead lives within shields, comfort zones of great appeal and put up barriers to repulse and shun somebody does talk to the down and out others say talk to lechers is taboo. Talk to gents who live with stress in comfort zones of great appeal skirt embarrasing issues, lecherous ones point to fiends of rocking the boats see ships of fools, they continue to float. Repulse and shunned by moral definers the charges of minors come to courts comfort zones where we know how to deal sentences of warning for juvenile offenders comfort has it, we wade in charted waters. gossip exchanges behind the curtains question are asked, why take the brunt comfort zones are cool with in shields why talk or listen to the down and out but if we let them rot in jails we sadly fail. Martin, Our jails are way too full! I like your moral conscience and your social awareness. We need more of this kind of thinking. ![]() |

In fact I think so too, would like to stir some interest on this can of worms here, otherwise America risks the votes of confidence it gets on priding itself for the efficient law and order it advertises! |

Very good poem, Martin...overcrowded jails and prisons are a big problem in this country. ![]() copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

So I urge some of you to at least develop some consiousness of helping to get some of the "shunned" back into society so that they can contribute ![]() |

Martin, I love that you care so deeply, but this is a tough one for me. I try to support those who have made it to the half way house and offer them jobs, offer them an ear and encouragement. Great write!!! |

Martin, you've touched on a tough issue.. and one that so needs to be not just talked about.. but something done about... But the masses cry for "justice" and cry for blood... and we just keep on.. not thinking, not caring.. just following like sheep... never pricked by conscience and most assuredly never troubled by original thought... Thank you Martin.. indeed.. we DO need to do more than talk about these things..!!! Pepper |

Amusemi and Peppermint, this goes with my poem on jail penpals and was inspired by a statement from Larry referring to comfort zones which I like.Tremendous wealth can be obtain by edging out of your comfort zones and helping somebody who can change for the better ![]() Victoria mentioned buying a subscription for a prisoner so he could keep up with what's going on in the world, RGWells suggested that a helpful ear is sometimes all that is needed. |
