Sleepy River Of Dreams (Bill’s Challenge)

A soft murmur flows in my ears
like a gentle caress
It wipes away my lonely tears
in ways I can’t express

So soothing to the heart and mind
it carries me away
This place where I go to unwind,
sometimes where dreams give sway

I feel the warmth of summer breeze
wrap me in sweet embrace
To freely release feelings with ease
without fear of disgrace

I ride the freshness of it’s flow
while watching clouds go by
This place I know that I can go
adrift in starlit sky

To my sleepy river of dreams
I go this very night
I’ll sit beside the flowing stream
and weave visions of delight
