“MY SHADOW” by Bill Charles ~~~~ Took a walk today in the sunlight, something was following behind… Wasn’t quite sure what it was, perhaps it was only, in my mind… I decided to run, for I was fast, and was sure I could outrun it… So I took off, doing about sixty, didn’t lose it, even a little bit… I sat down on a bench, and there it was, that’s when I discovered, it was me… Well it wasn’t exactly me, or was it, but it was right there, sure as could be… Today I found out something true, this was my friend, my shadow… And I’ll write about him again, maybe I’ll even do it, tomorrow… ~~~~ |

BC, lol...I can picture it! We went to Disney and there's the Rock and Roll Roller Coaster, 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds...we got a picture of that one at take-off...we laughed so hard at our faces, I can see your face in this poem, reminded me of our fun at Disney...thanks |

 (smiles) Oh my gosh, I know just how you feel, I just went to Walt Disney World over Thanksgiving and I rode that same Aerosmith coaster like Passing Shadows, and I just wished you and all my friends could have been there to celebrate too! (big huggggssssssss) May your shadow always guide you with His love, as your shadow of love is always with us in word. We all love you so much, sweet friend! Bill darling boy, I love this one, a sort of no martter how hard you try the one person you cannot run and hide from is yourself. There's a lot more to this than you see on the surface. How do you do that darling boy? Give your poems so many layers and depth. Well, however you do it, you do it extemely well. I really love this poem it is UTTERLY utterly fabulous. Oh yes.......how perfect...running from our shadows....how often do we try to run from ourselves or our feelings only to find out that we must stop and embrace ourselves for who we are and what we feel. I love this one, Bill. *wicked grin* hey, if I can't have a clone of you, your shadow would do nicely. **big hugs** Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

Bill, I enjoyed reading this. So often we think of shadows are "bad things" but I don't...not so much anymore anyway. My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write. |
