when grapes dry out I get raisins when the earth dries out I get cracks in its crust. when life dries out it's time to water its roots. when my face dries out it's time to oil its pores when a scab forms are you ready for new sores? I am left with what was moist. The fruit I had mentioned will dry out the water that fed it will fall short my face will lose its luster and dry and the smile I had will now be wry the seas will shift and dessecate and I will be left with salt pillars mountains will crumble and tumble into ravines and I will have to look for new life upstream. your poetry is an education m'friend. I like this, as "what is left" is the great mystery, but I liked what the Beatles said, "and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make..." Enjoyed. |
