The soft sounds,
That once spoken drift on wind,
Swirling round
Twisting back,
To find a heart to get in,
But it’s black,
Burnt cinders,
Scorched beyond recognition,
Can’t enter
That dark place,
Finds a silent reception,
Solemn face
Sends them back in a rebound.

Gloom

Gloom,

Well written poem. Here's one for you,

Abandon hardness in the past
Follow God to softness, rest, today
God decides all things that last
Not man, with thoughts of yesterday.

Thank you, Morcastlin,
Glad my turn of words pleased you,

Thank you, Silver Streak,
For the poetic response

Thank you, Doreen Peri,
Pleased you liked it,
But this is more of burn away than burn up

Thank you, Strbbux,
Sort of like an echo off a wall,

Interesting form, it seems to be syllabic and based around odd numbers, this format had to be intentional, right?

Thanks for the chance to read.

Thank you, Phaedrus,
Very intentional, based on 3,7, & 13
This is one of my primary personal forms,
The sequel “Harsh Words” just posted has the same format.
The couplet of 3 is slightly different than what I call my classical style,
But still it is the basic form.
Probably more information than you wanted.

Thank you, Mistletoe Angel,
Your responses are always so kind and sweet.

Thank you, sodpossom,
Glad you enjoyed.
