Sugarplums On The Moon Some say the moon is made of cheese, I say not, if you please. For it is made of sugarplums. White and yellow cracker crumbs. Into the core of the moon. There is a big white balloon. That holds a light inside so bright. It only lights up in the night. So we romantics now could see. That beautiful the moon can be. Yet now I smell the sugarplums, As they are warmed by light. With cracker crumbs wrapped all around. Will they fall to the ground ? Is this just a fantasy? Now go outside and you will see. Just take a wiff and tell me true. Do you smell sugarplums too? Do you? Floria [This message has been edited by strbbux (01-29-2002 07:31 PM).] |

a sweet poem.. I always wondered what a sugarplum tasted like. And the moon...I would say is dressed in many things when a poet is doing the looking. I love this, Lady! For all who watch...I see you looking. Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you |

This is a beautifully written poem, Floria...but what is a sugarplum? I know that thoughts of them, dance in the heads of children on Christmas eve...but I don't think I have ever seen one in real life, or even in my dreams because they never danced in my head...and if they did, I wouldn't have recognized them as such! But even though I don't think I've ever seen one...they still sound good around the moon in your poem. copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

a sweet lyrical poem a couple typos, I think, they're so insignificant I can't recall what they were, either that, or I'm too old to remember your poet's eyes are fun Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Lyra I always wondered the same thing, and one christmas, Marshall Fields sold sugarplum in small containers and I just had to see what they were like and they were round soft like coated candies..Very good, with a sort of plum fruity taste...I don't know if they just made that up or if that was what it really was...But as far as this poem is concerned, Just like all the others I write, I don't think. It just kind of comes out of me..Weird I know,, but that is what was in my head so that is what I wrote...LOL...I guess I should be happy it was sugarplums and not something worse..LOL. thanks for responding. floria Floria |
