Between the lines
within their words
pieces of myself
unfurled
through the angst
of poetry
my muse becomes
a time machine
and I can see
all that I was--
remember mysteries
of love
impatient just
for life's begin
do not hurry
childhood's end...

There is no shortcut
from yourselves,
for Heaven is
a walk through Hell.
Through the fires
of the damned
there you'll find
you understand.
A friend of mine
once took my hand,
and urged me gently:
"Be yourself."
Through the temperance
of flame,
is strength to be
a child again.

I cannot walk
the coals for you.
I dare not rattle
chains of youth.

Serenity~

'impatient just
for life's begin
do not hurry
childhood's end...'

Amen to this !

'I cannot walk
the coals for you.
I dare not rattle
chains of youth.'

Sometimes we wear the blisters
but can't explain the cost to others~

Good thought, why let go of being young?
