we were unsure
when we went there
the first time
to the park of dreams
where the shadow sun shined
and we wore glasses
to protect our eyes

I was your jungle jim
you climbed me slowly
in your tennis shoes
and short skirt
you didn't mind my eyes
when you went to the top
and hung upside down
you laughed at the whispers
from the wicked gods
in dark trees

I asked if you wanted
to swing
you said maybe later
in the relatonship
but for now
you would just be
a merrygoround
with me on your edges
and that we
could just spin slow

at first we did
but the whispers
pushed
us faster
I almost fell off
you pulled me to your center
and held me with your legs
I closed my eyes
until the whispers were silent
and you stopped trembling

it was time to leave
then
but we held hands
and threw our glasses away
the dark didn't hurt
our eyes now
we walked slowly
deliberate
toward the voices
that hid in the trees

I remember this one...still like the swinging from the trees idea....lol. Good to see you dark.

*sigh* Amazing...you have a way the weaves a vision filled with sensual play into your poems...I see freely it all unfolding before my eyes and even the darkness has it place within the poem....for who says what is considered dark. Very well done. I really liked reading this poem. **big hugs**

To play in this park of fantasy would be an interesting adventure.

A day in the park never sounded so good!
I like how you incorporated the playground
