Form Letter Reply Little Johnny Poet Dude Wrought a pome he thought was good Posted it on a board he liked And so he waited newly psyched Time went by, no one replied Well plenty, not the one he spied As the one he’d like to date Even though t’would not be fate Her name was something birds would sing I can’t relate it on this thing Just listen to your heart go still Or climb up to the highest hill From there on high where it descends The highest mountains she would mend As the tear across his heart Too bad they lived so far apart So little Johnny Poet Dude Who’s head was not so tightly screwed Fell so sick upon the sight That reply, she didn't, on that night He left the board for good he said, “All poetry is better left there dead As the words I would have wrought What lessons on this night has taught” The babe whose name the birds would sing (who happened to wear a diamond ring) came in late from boyfriends Jeep the birds all chirp that she was “cheep” She went to Passions… well… er… um… I mean some site she thought was dumb And read a poem by some young guy Who thought she walked on clouds so high She swigged some beer and burped real loud “So how’s about that highest cloud?” A sobriety test she’d never fail If sweetened lies could here prevail Months did pass and Johnny Dude Apologized for being rude Returned to post like ne’er before As to that girl, he’d just ignore One day of year that time recalls On Johnny Dude a wait befalls He sees the post she left for him His feelings…What to do with them? And so the cynic side of John Suddenly leaves, is up and gone He returns to writing lovely rhyme For the girl he’ll win in time As to the girl that birds would sing Just maybe not the nicest things Will "Dear John" note, on here, rely She calls her poem “Form Letter Reply” [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (01-26-2002 09:18 AM).] |

Cute write Walt. It is just a story, right? Would be sad if it was true. Poor little Johnny poet boy..maybe you'll write a sequel about the nice girl he finds, who doesn't crush his heart. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |
