once upon a time in the west
of what was once in the east
figures of speech became hazy
in their lack of direction
just like images being static
in the lens of the inner mind

sitting motionless
lacking energy
being inert like stones
that speak their own tales
in what becomes their own ways

just like maps of places drawn
around snaps of peoples strewn
around books of their stories
engulfed by little chapters of history
of men, women and their children

circles around circles around circles
like ripples around ripples
formed in a huge silent lake
that had waited patiently
all through winter for the spring to arrive
and for the little kid from the neighbourhood
to throw one little stone
and flash innocent smiles
at the scenes that unfolded
in that singular moment of action

and the coldness of the winter dissappears
like the bubble that comes from the
bottom of the glass
to be released into the atmosphere
surrounding the surface

an all consuming hunger follows --
that hunger of learning
and the appetite for knowing --
persuasive and pushy
just like relationships,
human or otherwise
ever demanding,
physically or otherwise

and all it takes is
to set the ball rolling
and move on with it!

-----
I guess, all I wanted is to get a grip and proceed to have a ride...

This is very Eastern and very soothing.  The images and thoughts flow well and appeal to much more than the mind.

Thank you for posting this poem.  I enjoyed reading AND experiencing it.

Sudhir, so glad to see you posting again! Happy New Year...a bit late.  Yes, sometimes you just have to give the Earthball a push, then hold on and enjoy the ride.
