In the Cobalt Midnight

In the cobalt midnight
      deep in dreams I see
reaching toward the hiding
      unarmed heart of me
A love that is like tender
      feather softened lark
touching places in me
      I always held apart.

My tangled tresses loosened
      falling all around
pillow my discomfort
      in a warm heart’s gown
I reach to touch the palm
      that midnight magic opened
and find instead air warm
      with words that were unspoken.

I’m quite sure there is a someone
in time and space who waits
to breath the silken fragrance
      that only dreams relate
and merging in some azure night
      he dreams his open palm
is touched by warmest breath
in the dark before the dawn.

yes, oh yes, someone with an open palm,
this is a soothing read.  Haven't felt that in a time, but it is very soothing.

Martie~Beautiful and exquisite as always!
Now I can go quietly to bed.....
To sleep, perchance to dream.
Thank you for this lovely goodnight post.

Beautiful Martie!  Exquisite phrasing and imagery throughout. I love your line "pillow my discomfort" ... it brought such a visual to my mind. Very much enjoyed this thought-filled piece!

Best wishes,
/Kit
