Your Absence

What chance to sleep while tempests rage inside
As heartbeats peal like thunder in my chest?
What chance to dream if flesh must be denied
The comfort in the softness of your breast?
To pass this night of wanting so afire
Still tempered by the obvious constraint
The lack of you requires, must force desire
To steel itself on hope, however faint.
Have you a notion yet of what you wield,
The power, as of magic, in your touch,
That force defenses never breached to yield
And leave a man alone to need so much?

A sleepless, dreamless night must lie ahead,
While you, my sweet, are absent from my bed.

Have you a notion yet of what you wield,
The power, as of magic, in your touch~

David,

A fine poem. The traditional form, held firmly in place throughout.

David, This is wonderful...a beautiful sonnet.
And this is my favourite line...

"The power, as of magic, in your touch,"

My my....I wonder why....
