Repost: Things You Remember An incident of years ago. When my daughter was only five We had a cat named Cyrano. This cat it seemed had died alive. The day after he passed away. My daughter sat with a friend. It seems to me like yesterday. They whispered about his end. This is what I overheard, In whispers, she softly said, Haltingly came out the words. "My cat, I think he woke up dead." |

We had a cat named Cyrano. This cat it seemed had died alive. ===================================== It seems to me like yesterday. They whispered about his end. This is what I overheard, In whispers, she softly said, Haltingly came out the words. "My cat, I think he woke up dead." ========================================== Out of the mouths of babes...and then a poets pen. How cool is this -- naming a cat named Cyrano. and only YOU would be cool enough to write a memory wrapped in rhyme and make it be so understatedly tender and COOL. We wish ourselves beautiful ... we cry in the night. |

Children do say the most truthful things...my daughter, about the age of yours in a time away from now, had been introduced to Donald, Mickey, Goofy, when Disney decided three decades to bring back the fun... One day after the cartoons, she went outside then came back in crying, "The cat killed Donald Duck!" as my cat had been hunting birds earlier that morning... what DO we tell them? Great memories, Sy...thank you... |
