I once met a man Whose voice gentle, And his manner Soothing. He spoke from within A well of words At once sweetness And sorrow. Yet he kept his face Averted, and would Not look me in the eye. What for, self-effacement, Fear? The true face Showed, nonetheless. There is no requisite For worthiness. There is no good reason Not to fly when the wind Picks you up. No good reason Not to cry when sadness Demands spilling. No good reason to open Our eyes to open minds Who accept you-as you are. |

Very thought provoking poem, I enjoyed what you had to say. So many people today just want to be accepted for who they are, yet there are still so many people out in the universe that are ready to judge immediately without looking deeper into ones real being. |

Wonderfully written, and so very true. There are so many truly beautiful people in the world, both inside and out. It's too bad that sometimes the general populace chooses to ignore the genuine. Thanks for sharing this one. ~What is cherished most is what must be the hardest fought for.~ |
