My life closed before
it could even open.

Not by a stranger
nor a sinister villain,
but by the worst betrayal.
By one too scared to toy,
too weak,
and fragile of mind.
One so close,
so trusted,
who never gave me a chance.
As if I would take it.
Denied a taste of success
or the lesson of defeat.
So I huddle,
naked and cold
behind the unlocked door.

Only he who shut it can open it.
But I am too afraid to try.

Let's put the FUN back into Dysfunctional.

Well.. you must know...
you cant huddle naked like that forever... though i understand how you may feel you want to.. you have to proceed no matter how bad you want to stay, as time goes by

CondorSey, we are the only ones who can open our own closed windows. And fear is our biggest closed window. Conquering fear, with God's Loving help is the only hope any of us has.

Eagle, if you are concerned, this was written a few years ago. Since then, I learned that the door was always unlocked and I have since walked through.

Let's put the FUN back into Dysfunctional.

Condor - Really liked this a lot. From a person who has never crossed the threshold of many unlocked doors, I am glad to hear you ventured through this one. Nice writing.
