Oh Tin Man, can I be you, for my rusted heart pains me so I’ll gladly give it to you ‘cos I have it just for show I’m tired of this yellow road and begging for drops of oil So please take my squealing heart, so I can end this turmoil My ducts are clogged with debris, so I haven’t cried in years I know Dorothy will never come to drain these murky tears So forget the yellow road, I’m now on the one that’s blue Please come and take my rusted heart, ‘cos Tin Man, I might as well be you |

ah, but you write a metaphor close to my own heart. Love the references here...and the title, which "drew me in"...nice write! |

Dont take this wrong, cuz I mean it as a compliment-this could be a song I know that hollow feeling, too, but I'm still trying to believe in Oz. Great Poem! |

I enjoyed this very much, Dave....but I know that you have a heart of pure gold, not tin. Your brain, Now thats another story. Anyone who thinks the pizza is better in NY must have a brain full of tin. copyright2001 Lyra Nesius |

Dave darling boy, you KNOW I truly love this one of yours. Just lately, apart from making me sob my eyes out, your writing is getting better and better. IT WAS ALWAYS GOOD, now it's exceptional. Wonderful darling boy just wonderful. I was going to name and shame you in the 'Crying List', but you deserve a poem all to yourself. Now don't tell me darling boy you want me to make your shoulder soggy, I won't believe you. You have a heart as wide as the sky and as deep as the ocean, wonderful references in here love absolutely wonderful Love and warm stuff As always Mushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

I think we've all felt like this at some point in our lives. I like the way you wrote it. Cool title too. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh GenXer, this is so so sad, my heart cries out to yours! (sad sigh) Always believe in yourself, sweet friend, for your heart and spirit is your inner-Wizard of Oz, and you can always be anything in your dreams and hopes, for the Tin Man got his heart, and you can find true happiness too if you look on to the Emerald City behind the clouds! (smiles) We all love you so much, sweet friend, our thoughts and prayer sand love are always with you! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Dave, your poetry is blossoming. I enjoyed all your work at MTC but I'm seeing much more intense feelings and expressions here. Wonderful pieces you're writing and I love all of the Oz references. Great job. Cheryl |
