Within The Amber Forest

Somewhere deep in the amber forest
there lies a half-hidden lagoon
where Sprites and Faeries choreograph laughter
in footfalls beneath a slivered moon~

In still of night when the moon is right
the dance begins anew
Wingless flight in mid-of-night
tells the tale of renew~

Out of the sleepy hollow they come
from 'neath cypress stump to play
All the voices of the night
dance in sweet display~

For 'ere shadows crisscross the evening
Faeries shuffle fleet-feet without flight
Reverberating wonderment across the swamp
in staccato of sheer delight~

It is a time of Sprites and Faeries
to lift their voices in song
to dance the dance of Fae-in-prance
o'er the steamy bog~

If perchance you should happen
upon this ritual of dancing and singing
be sure to listen silently
lest they take to winging~

Believe what you have witnessed
share with others what you've seen
for the very magic land of the Faeries
is found when we believe~
