First cooling breeze of vespertine, ...dancing through the trees, Gentle whispers of the wind, ...calling through the eaves, Singing songs of far aways, ...of loves forever lost, Springtime flowers and summer's burn, ...December's icy frost, Madrigals of what has been, ...of what will ever be, Echoing throughout the halls, ...in evening's symphony, Then music fades as breezes fall, ...with blackness of the night, Eventide to darkness wends, ...song passes with the light, In the silence of the dark, ...no sound to mortal ear, In the silence of the dark, ...only rafters hear. |

I could read this kind of writing forever, it blocks out everything else and comforts. Thank you for this. Kathleen |

sings like a minstrel's song! wonderful phrasing and magical in that it seemed to take me to another time. Lovely. |

Ohhh, Wow! I could feel time softy and gently enveloping me (if there's such an expression) - the past, the future merging into the present... all coming together as one .... a sense of time ... yet of timelessness... your poem has ministered to my soul. Dunno if this is the proper place to do it (If it isn't.. I'd like to extend my apologies) ... but I would like to take this opportunity to say Hello to everyone. I am a newbie and I feel so lucky to have found such a wondeful site as Passions. moonbeam2 |
