Hello, Passions....It's great to be alive, to write poetry and to see your shining colors today....I hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving..I know I have(I'm stuffed as a turkey)....anyways, I put version #2 cause, I think I wanna save version one for my electronic poetry book I'll be releasing some time next year....anyways, enjoy this version though....peace!

Have you ever seen tears fall down a clown's face,
as he covered his eyes so nobody could see?
Have you ever seen his sadness leave a trace,
of where happiness and peace used to be?

In all honesty, I'm the official king of comedy
any questions, just call 1800-the jokes on me.
But despite the fact, that my heart often gets slashed,
I keep things all in perspective despite the laughs.

I guess I wear a price tag cause, folks spend jokes on me like cash,
putting me on full blast, failing to grasp the pain behind this mask
as it's very depressing, to know that the jokes on me
as the excess baggage, weighs a ton like groceries.

I might as well cake-up my face with make-up
act like I'm an earthquake as my body shakes and struts,
simultaneously juggle eggs in the air in circular rotation
until one falls on my head so, that I can recieve a standing ovation

as I guess this was meant to be, my god-given purpose
to be the main center of attraction, in lifes' big circus
cause unvoluntarily, I've become the big joke that everyone wants to see
as I cry while the world points and laughs at me, showing no sympathy.

I wont laugh at you but I'll definitely smile at you! This is a great poem Nate, it flows so wondefully and I like your rhyming words you've used. I'm going to add this to my library.

hmmmmmmmm. . . I'm wondering about this one Nate. . . wondering why the clown needs to be pointed at and laughed at. . . and what it makes him feel. . .

well done. . . can't wait to see the first version. . . let me know when it comes out!!!

Reminds me of that old Bobby Goldsboro song called Funny Little Clown...I believe that's what it is called.
"No one knows he's cryin...for he's laughin' on the outside...but he's cryin' on the inside."   James

Damn, I think I should have made this as part one cause, this poem only serves like an intro to the character I'm gonna get into on the other poem....gosh, I feel like a jerk right now...somebody pinch me!
