Jenny, searching for a companion chair for her beautiful Victorian sofa, began perusing antique shops regularly. She found many chairs, but none quite regal enough to stand beside her lovely sofa. While searching, she met an interesting gentleman by the name of David. His shop brought an odd feeling of peace to her, whenever she entered. His portrait art adorned the walls, and his favorite model appeared to be a young woman bearing a striking resemblance to Jenny in her youth. They often reminisced about the 20's, fondly recalled as their "heyday", while she looked for the perfect chair. Back at home the sofa sat alone, waiting, and wondering if perhaps she was not sufficient to please her owner. One misty morning Jenny made her daily venture to the antique shop. As she entered, David rushed over to her. "You must see the chair I've found, she was made for you". Jenny gladly followed him into the back room where he held aside pieces already sold. There stood a lovely, high backed, lavender velvet chair. Her carved wood matched exactly that of the sofa. "Why it looks as though they were made together" exclaimed Jenny. David patted her arm tenderly and told her he would deliver the chair to her if she wished. Late that afternoon, the chair arrived. Though it was quite an effort, David managed to carry her in and place her next to the sofa. Jenny clapped her hands like a child and told David to please sit down. The sofa fluffed her cushions as David and Jenny sat down. As she looked at the chair, she felt a strange feeling, as though her sister had come home. She never knew she had a sister, but that had suddenly changed. David reached for Jennys' hand with a soft smile. The sofa felt love surround her.... and the chair inwardly winked. Here's an idea for you: what if Jenny and David were to meet Elise and Richard in the 20's through a secret passageway shared by the sofa and chair...? ![]() ![]() -MVS "If you don't ask: you don't get." -Steve Miller http://www.davidicke.com/icke/index1c.html [This message has been edited by MARK V SHELDON (edited 11-14-2001).] |
