Irondale A canopy of star and moon The raven night, the lonely loon The silvered hint of winter’s white A forest waits its rebirth rites Tonight the cool of November comes A warming fire grows with setting sun A glass of rum to cut the chill A word, a laugh, the slur of stories thrill I spoke of you in desires bold You, who steal’s my heart this I know Another world, a far off distant dream A man, a woman, a need to believe! Being that my brain is numb, as I just got up, I had to look up the meaning of Irondale. (Yes, I know you'll bug me later about that) However, now that I'm clear...I thought it was a wonderful poem. Very pretty and I'm glad to see that your not just staring at your comp. screen for a change. Marina It is a blessing to have wings for words and passion in pen. |

Marina, I don't think you'd find anything in the dictionary on Irondale. Its a place, had its hay day about 100 to 150 years ago. Almost a ghost town now, main road bypasses it. My 15 acres of forest is just down a dirt road from it. It was a mining town way back then. Iron mining is what I was told when I bought it. It has a little river that runs along the back end of my property. There's two lakes near by and a small set of rapids just down the Irondale River. In the summer its nice to just sit in the middle of the rapids with the water rushing over you and watch the frolicking ladies... Arn't you sorry you mentioned it now. Parker |

*sigh* okay now I want to move back to Ontario.....*sigh* I so miss the green and the forest and the water.....This poem touched my heart and your words down the thread drew me into a dream setting. *sigh* absolutely stunning. This is incredibly beautiful. I love loons, and even the raven is my friend. (now you know I'm looney!) This is a delightful magical place, inviting someone to frolic in the water and splash Love all around. You just made my morning a bit brighter. We have only 5 hours of daylight now, but the moon was so bright last night it kept me up most of the night, wanting to run around and get a moon burn. Except it was -22F outside, so I sat at the window instead and hoped for a meandering moose or fox to pass by, no luck. I did see 5 moose yesterday in my neighbors yard, but the elusive foxes are just too foxy to be seen by me. No aurora last night either. Gosh, I think maybe this reply should have been put in the prose/feelings section? LOL, thanks for the stimulating poetry. Very refreshing, and now it's java time. |

I don't live there its about two hours north of me. In Canada two hours north of anywhere is usually total wilderness, with the occasional small town. Its just some property I bought awhile back, a great place to get away from it all, and that means no convieneces just a camp fire, trees, bugs, quiet and the stars. Parker |
