The Best of Hearts

Picking moments, taking chances
watching for the stolen glances
excitement mounts, nerves are tangled
temptation grows, plans get mangled
in our eyes, in our heart
our life lies, lost without thought

Sacredly true until we find
for me , for you, a piece of mind
minutes to days, days seem like years
our time comes when we face fears
for now we try not to be caught
with our eyes, with our heart

Then comes the day long awaited
words find their way, facts are stated
the lies are laid, the fire spreads
the fears are paid, love hangs by threads
heartaches echo, confusion starts
the game we play "The Best of Hearts"

A twist of fate, love finds a hold
love determined to shine like gold
it will take time, more than we know
but will prevail, feelings still grow
cherish the time, lets play it smart
in our eyes, in our heart
