I was barely holding on I had written a last will of sorts~ but I held myself tight… sometime 'round midnight, my voice choked, in that moment I believed I had turned to stone. My words, my poetry….stone. Then I remembered Grandma once said I had Chutzpah, that resident spirit that can write you emotions when your mind has been encrypted. I know I heard her voice say, "There's still a wall to go down, girl, do me proud." So I hitched a ride to the north where fog steams off the moon, waiting for smooth November rain. And smooth as chemise it was! I raised my face, opened my mouth and spun my braids. Ah, yes, elixir poured from somewhere over heaven. Now, I hadn't tasted rain since childhood and I couldn't get enough! My feet so wanted to dance…. I almost gave in to the feeling but my toes were wiggling and you know, that's a fine beginning. Sounds like a perfect beginning to me. Great illustration of the renewal of a broken spirit. All writing comes |

How nice that a special Grandmother could give you strength to go on,and even feel happy. I think commiserating under the moon is a thing we should do, definitely I am really enjoying your poems. Sandra |
