I'm sitting here all alone
Wondering if I should go home
No one sees and no one cares
Wallflower sitting unaware

Alone in here and feeling blue
Wondering what I should do
For me there'll be no fine romance
No one asked me "care to dance?"

Until a shadow crossed my path
A shapely man who made me laugh
He grimaced long and did a prance
I was wondering…care to dance

Proudly I walked on the floor
Dawn came to see us out the door
All night long I was entranced
How we talked and danced and danced

Standing on my wedding day
All my joy is here to stay
Though so shy, he took a chance
Came and asked me "care to dance?"

All my life I've yearned for bliss
And one day it came to this
With no hope of fine romance
I took a chance and cared to dance.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Keth, this just makes the poem perfect! There is something about a dance!  *s*

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

I love it!  From wallflower to fairytale ending.  Wonderfully written, my friend - and glad your dream came true I am.

Oh Keth,

dancing is something I must admit
and on the floor two can make a hit!
thinking of you too
