i waited all day for the phone to ring
and hoped he would call
i thought he had forgot about me
but as i got ready to turn in for the night
the phone rang..it was he
"Hello nana..its Nick
Merry Christmas ..are you alright?"
told me all thats been going on
he said he was driving now
two jobs and on the honor roll
colleges sending him letters
the distance has not taken its toll
he said he has his own car
and on top of everything
he wants to be a baseball star
he said "im not cocky nana
but im really good"
and i said
"well you have to have confidence
in yourself" and he said "yes i do"

and before he hung up..
just like when he was small
said.."i love you Nana"..
and told me he was
six foot one inches tall.

thank you kathleen ..magnus and noah...he is the oldest of four grandchildren and hes very special to me..i love him very much..
