Angel Hair Ballet

As the curtain of my eye lids
was drawn open ...
I found my self gazing
towards a ballet
set in the aromatic flavorings
of heavenly birth
and the peaceful wisps
of eternal acceptance.

A crystal breeze
swept across the stage of pine
caressing silent notes
of tranquility
as each strand of angel hair
stood upon it's toes
and spiraled in pirouettes
atop the glimmer
of glass accents
hanging
from melodies of celebration.

Softened lights
harmonized
to lyrics
of angelic whispers
hidden between
crescendos of time
and displacement ...
offering the reflections
of promises
as they leapt merrily
across the fragile shimmerings
dangling
in anticipation.

An audience
of treasures
wore their best
paper tuxedos
and metallic gowns
frilled
around the edges
with satin ribbons
and adorning
the finest bows
of the day
as they were lost
to the spectacular ceremony
taking place
in the hearts
of many
around the world.

As the ivory drapes
were drawn tight
to close the first act ...
I realized
this ballet
was taking place
in the hazel reflections
of your eyes
and I caught myself
lost
with in a haze
of joyous tears
captured
in the brief moment
just before
the ovation of love
calls
for its first
morning kiss.

Mark Christopher

Merry Christmas baby ... I love you.

I have found in you ... a reflection of me ...
and a path to the peace I have sought.

What beautiful words and a beautiful kiss. This also remimded me of when I used to go to the ballet as a little girl.My aunt would play in the orchestra and I would watch.Thank you for bringing me such sweet memories once again.

What a beautiful ballet of love and adoration you have written. It positively dances down the page in serene romance. Gorgeous.

jeepers you make it real hard to pick put fave lines...Im highlighting the whole poem.
well you already know I love when you do free verse...(lines dont have to match) (hehe)
because it allows you to just completely sweep us away with your gift for imagery and the grandjour and glory of your romantic intentions when you are this well inspired.
This is beautiful Mark...truly...the imagery, the poetic phrasing and vocab and the emotional depth.
Like someone said above.."majesty" ...yes...exactly..
majestic and glorious...heavenly.
why its even groovy LOL
me

You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost in everything I do.
Thats the way love is ... sky blue and black.
