Once again, a poem about my husband. My husband will not be home for Christmas this year He's gone to fight in a war, and for his safety, I fear. There is no tree decorated, or any stockings hung The wrappping for the presents, together I flung. I box up his gifts and send them through the mail Oh! Please don't let the post office fail. Let his Christmas be a one of peace Please let the gunfire and the bombings cease. Christmas isn't meant to be spent all alone Dang it, my husband should be home. *please offer any suggestions for this poem. I am trying to get a book of poems together for my husband. Yes I hope he is safe and that he has a peaceful Christmas...I suggest you write a poem where you just let the feelings flow from your heart telling him how much you miss him and care for him...and sometimes just a heartfelt letter will work...I'm sure he will appreciate whatever you do for him...take care..James |

nicely written. I agree with James so collect yours thoughts to give to him. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

I'm not sure where I came across this, but I once read that on Christmas, there is no war. Everyone would put down their weapons and join hands to celebrate. I think I read it in some children's storybook, and then I began to think that Christmas is a most wonderful day - filled with warmth, and love. That's why I love Christmas, though I'm not a Christian. So, I hope too that this story is true. That there'll be no killings. That there'll be peace for your husband and the others like him, who are at war. _,,,^.^,,,_ |
