This is My Last Poem

by Michael

This poem may be the last I write,
convinced each day there'll be no more,
but then my hand stirs in the night
and out again, the words will pour.

I do not understand the need,
the urge that seems to drive me so,
each day one poem and sometimes three.
The stack of them does ever grow.

I tell myself the words are gone,
my days of writing now are done.
Each day I know I will not write
and then another poem's begun.

I let you peer within my heart
and show you things that I'm proud of.
I sometimes share a memory.
I very often speak of love.

This is the last poem I will write.
I'm sure of it, I know it is,
about as sure the morning sun
will not place on the day a kiss.

Come still the hand that it not write.
Remove the pen and change the mood,
but if you do I know I'll starve,
for words, I hunger, so like food.

This is my last post at Passions.  I'm leaving for awhile.  I'm not sure if I'll be coming back.

Merry Christmas to everyone and may God richly bless you.

Merry Christmas, Michael and I understand this.  It drains a person, it's drained me, but it's been ME draining myself if that makes any sense.  Writing can be theraputic but it can also feed into whatever else is going on in our lives that is causing pain.
Have peace and should you return, return because you want to and it makes you happy, and for no other reason!

We shall see you in the New Year, of this, I am sure.  And if not? Our archives are blessed with your work.  Merry Christmas, Auguste...

Still the hand which holds the pen,
may for now, just be,
however sound the mind might work
as it pens its poetry;
waiver not within its stead
for all the world to see
Harsher might this world be, should we
be lost of poetry.

Michael,

You know I would hate to see you leave. I love your poetry and would hate to see it stop appearing on these blue pages.  I have learned from you... and I hope you stay.  If not, you will be missed here. Don't forget to send me your poetry... I don't wanna miss any of it.  Big hugs to you dear, Happy Holidays.

Hugs,

Your last line says it all.
Hope you do keep writing, where ever you may be.

Please don't go, Michael....
I think sometimes when we post our poetry here and we don't know how much we touch others by doing so.

"I let you peer within my heart
and show you things that I'm proud of.
I sometimes share a memory.
I very often speak of love."

I may not have ever told you so, but in the short time I have been here, your words have touched me a lot and I have also learned from your beautiful work.

I hope that you are not leaving us forever and that I will see you posting here again soon.
Please have a happy holiday.
I will miss you

What do you mean your last poem here?? I certainly hope not, your words are a treasure to read, and I know many of us would miss them if you didn't post them here. I do hope this is just coming from a bad day, and that you'll reconsider my friend.

I truly hope that this isn't your last poem. I do understand that you need a break, and I hope that you will return to passions. I will miss you and your poetry, even that I don't always reply, 'cause there are so much to read and my time is limited. Take care and wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy NewYear

Everyone,

Your kindness and support mean a great deal to me.  I will be leaving, but should be back posting again on January 10th.  I have a lot going on between now and then and need to get some things taken care of.  A very happy Christmas to you all.  My gift to myself is to take a walk on the beach today and collect Christmas shells.   Yeah, you guessed it, the shells that only wash up on Christmas day.   *hugs* and thank you much!

Michael, I just stopped in for a small poetry fix, and I see these words from you. I was relieved to see your note that you will be back in a few weeks. Sheesh, don't scare me like that.
Hope your beach walk was nice. And your whole Christmas day.

there you go not being able to express yourself in written words is like starving from hunger, mind you early poems were orated
and passed down, weren't they?So I'm sure your hand will stir as will your mind and tongue. Keep well.
