Like ships which meet at sea, and pass- Then vanish out of sight... I met her in a truck stop On a rainy, winter night... I'd been driving, long and hard... You have to, when you run. And running is way of life- For men who pack a gun. I'd fought the rain a hundred miles, And thought I'd grab a cup... And maybe play the jukebox It might just wake me up... She was sitting in the corner, The place I would have chose... Her eyes green as the clover, Her mouth a sweet, red rose. I asked her, "Do you mind too much- If I sit here with you?" She looked at me without a smile, And said, "I really do!" She said, "We both have problems, For me, my money's gone. For you, it is quite obvious- You've spent too long alone." I said, "I guess you're probably right. Forgive me that I asked." She said, "I think I've changed my mind- If you'll just let it pass." We talked, it seemed like hours- She walked me to the door. When we embraced, she felt the gun- That I always wore... She said, "Your life's a hard one- You're not the first I've knowed. And if we both survive, big man- I'll see you down the road." |

John, Is that a gun in your pocket...I'll see you further down the road. Good write. I liked the imagery of lost sopuls finding each other. Kethry. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Nice story telling. You painted the scene very well. Let's put the FUN back into Dysfunctional. |
