I was inspired to write this poem by the gorgeous visions that I had reading James Michael's "Polynesian Nights". You can find his breathtakingly beautiful piece here:

Hawaiian Melodies
By: Noah Eaton
12/23/01

Dance with me under these kukui trees
Sway with me against the rustling coconut palms
Lie with me in this bed of purple orchids under these volcanic skies
Deep into this romantic hula we will gracefully fall

Take my hand in this sensual hula
Embraced between song as old as rhyme with the sacred ukeke
Your hair wears luscious leis of red ginger and heliconia
Take my hands and swing with me in this hot Polynesian breeze

I can hear you say the air is singing
Against the symphonies of kaekeekes and Fijian flutes
Dancing to the beat of the Pahu drums in your coconut bikini
Swaying grass skirts, bathing in passion under the burning moon

Tonight is our night, my love, take me
Share with me the rainbows of these Hawaiian Melodies
Under these coconut palms, we’ll share our love happily
Every night before I fall asleep, I want to say to you “Aloha au ia `oe!”

Aloha au ia ‘oe
(I love you)

Such a romantic poem my dear friend!  If only I could write the way you could and capture all the senses just right.  Awesome poem, I love it!!!

Beautiful and romantic. I can almost smell the flowers, and hear the ocean.
