Where does life begin and where does it end
Xmas cheer begins...I have no issues to contend;
Not of the flock that followed the Holy Prince
not of the stock that has believed in Him since.

Who am I, a mystery man with cloak and knife
to seek revenge on the world, and stir up strife;
am I from heaven above with wings curled up
that visits homes as a stranger when you sup?

I am no devil from below,nor an angel from on high
the conduct of earthly lives is not for me to spy;
I hold not the answers to your origins or demise
I hold it fit not to love first and then despise.

How do our lives begin and how our future ends
Holiday cheer seems shallow with no future to contend;
as one of the flock that knew Him, in deserts first
I am one to be careful where my ambitions thirst.

Thought provoking as it is, I wish you all a happy season, let's not get too, too serious about what's happening under our noses all over the world but be a little more conscientious.

Some very interesting thoughts, beautifully penned, Martin.
I especially liked

"How do our lives begin and how our future ends
Holiday cheer seems shallow with no future to contend;
as one of the flock that knew Him, in deserts first
I am one to be careful where my ambitions thirst."

I have noticed this year that there are not as many houses which are decorated for Christmas...I think people are still in mourning for those who died on 9/11.
Holiday cheer does seem so shallow this year, doesn't it?
Thanks for giving words to that thought.

From another Canuck, best wishes for the season.
