This is about a series of different views in our emotions. Pane 9: This pane is about the layers of tears. Frozen tear panes How sad you are Misty patterns as a winter’s frost Frozen in the heart of feelings Fragile crystal of tender glass Ready to shatter at any notice Held together by survival instincts Looking out of these windows Will get you motion sickness Of the heart A fluttering of sighs frosting once more Layers on layers of feelings That keeps piling up As you try to Windex them away To the clarity of vision Sometimes the center will offer sight But the edges are ragged In the emotion That is too hard to control Still you must peer out once in awhile To the flowering garden of emotion That springs up into hope Outside of your own inside world D.Lester Young (12/20/01) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |
