The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-12-21 08:59 PM

Just yesterday I passed him by
as we both slowly walked away
But truly, what could I have said
"How are you love, have a good day?"

Instead we practiced tunnel sight
and summoned up the great pretense
(we're nothing to eachother now-
we never loved with such intense)

What once was real is now a dream
the passion nothing but a ghost
and so I passed without a word
the man I once had loved the most.

Hi Sandra, well, I popped in didn't I?  And I like this but it's soooo sad.
Thank you again for the lovely card, I somehow think next year is going to be better.

*sigh* Oh, Sandra, how very sad that love once shared goes unacknowledged....when the love was so very strong. My heart goes out to you, dear one. May the season give you hope and some joy for tomorrow. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Sandra, it saddens me always to feel your tears through your words, I know how you must feel, and my heart goes out to you! (big hugggsssss) Follow your heart always, sweet friend, for He is writing a sub-script of a true love for you, that's bound to become a classic love story to touch your heart forever! (kiss on cheek) I wish you the greatest happiness, sweet friend, we all love you so very much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

A very hauntingly pretty poem, Catalinamoon.
I enjoyed it's sad romanticism very much.

What once was real is now a dream.  A great contrast line.  I could feel the pain in the passing by of what was.  Great writing.  Roger

Wow, that's a pretty tough and intense moment there. Love the way you wrote it, but it must have made your heart miss a beat or two when you first saw him.

Your writings of late, Sandra, are exuding emotions in an ever more powerful way with each poem...  The last stanza of this one feels like it could be a quote from literature in its flow, rhyme, and content.  Keep it up and let the "muddy glass" fill up with "fresh new water" until the glass is clear once more.

Ain't that the truth!!

Even something that intense seems to leave a bit of residue ...
the kind that only time wears.

You have such passion in your words even for a lost love.  I think it will be a lucky fella that will hold and cherish your heart.

Oh Sandra ... the feelings in this just go straight to the heart. You've captured it perfectly and powerfully, very nicely written.

Best wishes,
/Kit
