Martie and Samantha Allow Me This (Ode to a Newborn) Allow me this That I might kiss That I might hold My arms enfold This sparrow of a child My lips caress The downiness My nostrils flare And drink the air Of incense sweet and mild I would I might Through day and night Within me hold My heart enfold The aspect of this newborn If this I could My spirit would On baby’s sigh Take wing and fly And soar to heaven reborn |

Joe, this is incredible. Both the pic and the write. Reads as gently as a hushed lullaby. Martie will treasure this just as we will. A real keepsake! Well done poet sir! Hugs, Nancy. *~ Wishing you all a magical Christmas ~* |

Joe--Your newborn poem is the expression of my heart...and the photo and presentation of it with your artistic talent have made them the perfect compliment. Thank you, my friend, for honoring Sam and I with this post. Hugs! |

Joe, What a breathtaking job on this you did. To a Mother, and a new Grandmother! You sure enough know the way to make a heart smile. This is absolutely priceless, (can it be made into cards that Martie can use?) Absolutely the best gift you could have ever given. Bless your heart and I mean that! ~*~ The Very Best Of The Season To You And Yours ~*~ |
