The Very Least

It was the least one could do
To catch the wind’s cool sigh
The very least one might do,
Lingering over a last good bye

Your lips swept warm over me
A thousand waves of sheer delight
The very least that you could do
Before you left that night

It was the very least for me
To see blue eyes, still haunting,
And like the very beast of you,
Your love for me, still wanting

Like a refrain from sad old songs
That lingers throughout the night
The very least that still belongs
Is beholding you in my sight

The very least of me is this true love
Set forever free upon wings of a dove

(sigh) So beautifully bittersweet, sweet friend! (sigh) May your love forever shine and become something magical that seems like the most of joy! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, your work is always the greatest pleasure to read! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet lady, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

The very least I can do is tell you how much I like this, Lady.  Nice work!

this is lovely Lady...and tis the least I can do to put it in me library

You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost in everything I do.
Thats the way love is ... sky blue and black.

Very nice, Lady... I particularly like the final couplet... On the wings of a white dove.. a perfect place for a love that's free...

Wow ... this piece just makes me want to sigh.  It flows so wonderfully, and the lines just wind together into a beautiful, sweetly sad song.
