Little Bunny Flu Flu
knew Christmas time was near
Cause everybunny, everywhere
was filled with Christmas cheer
Hutches were trimmed with colorful berries
and Flu Flu dreamed of sugar plum fairies

She was busy making out her Christmas list
A brand new bike was her fondest wish
Mama was busy with her Christmas baking
Papa was busy with toys he was making

The best part of Christmas was Christmas Eve
When the critters all gathered under the tree
The huge old oak was the gathering place
Just thinking about it put a smile on her face

Papa always told the Christmas story
about angels who came in all of their glory
and told shepherds in the field about a child
Born in a stable ~ he was gentle and mild

Flu Flu loved to hear about this special boy
If she met him, she’d give him her favorite toy
Animal legends passed down through the years
said the ox and the sheep, at his birth, shed tears

His mama was lovely and young and sweet
She let them stay when they wanted to meet
her new little baby, born in a manger
She knew they’d keep him safe from danger

The sheep were told to stand near by
They could comfort Jesus if he started to cry
And it was told for years by the old brown mare
that Mary stroked the baby with tender care

Papa said this poor boy would one day be a king
and his Father created the world and everything
Flu Flu’s eyes were filled with wonder
as she gazed at the stars in the dark blue yonder

She thought in amazement as they left the tree
Why, this Jesus loves critters just like me!
I must thank him for being so kind
I’ll just give him that new bike of mine

Flu Flu learned a great lesson in living
It feels so good when you’re the one giving.

Sunshine, Thank you for reading. Bunny Flu Flu is a special little rabbit that I've been writing adventures about. Hope to post some of her other ones later. I would be honored if you wanted to keep it for you grand-daughter.

Larry C, Thank you also. I did not see a Children's Forum so I assumed this would be the place to post them.

Cheryl - This, I must say, is a great write.  I loved the perspective of the animals telling the story of baby Jesus being born.  Very creative.
