Yesterday Oh…my, what a day it was, A day full of chaos, Sans a valid cause… Giving no time for me to pause… Oh…my, what a day it was… Morn began a day of flaws… With Jim, not finding his report for class; With Tim, in his shirt full of tomato sauce; And the family car smiling, nearly out of gas!! Hoping that noon would smoothly pass… I sat at my desk, feigning hearing loss… Lo, there he was, my not-so-nice boss… Standing & peering with his magnifying glass… Apparently someone had put in a clause!!  Now was the meeting with this sassy lass; Who made it a point to simply harass; Which put me at a place, I couldn't get across; For there was the sign, 'Not to trespass'…  Oh….my, what a day it was… Followed this, a call from my in-laws; With phony words of cheer & loud applause; All this,I learnt, was surely because…. Soon I'd become their Santa Claus!! By the time this ended, I was so cross… Jumped into bed, only to turn and to toss…  Oh…..my, what a day it was… ----- [This message has been edited by amigo (12-19-2001 04:17 PM).] |

Nice poem! I found it amusing, and could relate to it -- it might be viewed as a mother's version of that excellent children's book, "It Was a Terrible, Awful, No Good Day!" Best wishes, Glenn Logan |
