Just stood there....grinning: Watching fools pass by, Being what they pretend, Hiding from own reality Lost in false impressions, More valued than dignity Laughing for sake's effect, Happy, yet truly sad Wrapped in plastic surroundings, Slipping up drooling slopes Talking to hear themselves, Deaf to any answer Hair blowing in breeze, More concerned with style Than what lies beneath, Brain wasted by conceit Compassion an after thought, Centered only on self Grasping for golden rings, Worth nothing in eternity Love just a word, Seeing loyalty as obscene Old fashioned a joke, Material things most valued Sneering at the elderly, Pathetically so boldly unaware They wise humans were young first, That these old faces reveal their own mortal futures. |

(sad sigh) Oh, dearest brother, I know just how you feel! (wipes tears) It saddens me to see todays youth bent on their own vanity in the most part and being self-centered and disrespecting the elderly and breaking hearts. (big hugggssssss) My heart goes out to the world, for I wish we could all learn to love each other and harmonize each other as a whole and each have our part in the circle of peace rather than in material goods. (sad sigh) I join you in your prayers, sweet friend, this is so depressing but well-written! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet brother, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

*sigh* I so wish more would see what I see when I look into the eyes of an older person. I see such wisdom and experience...I want to know what life was like for them. **big hugs**Sir Robert...I hope this season will fill your heart with joy...if not...call me and I will do my best to cheer you up. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

Many years ago, in my youth, 16 I believe I was, my high school speech class did Christams for an old folks home. I was Santa Claus. All these years later and I am, as I have always been every day since, touched by that experience. Many things I write, particularly about the elderly, have basis in that field trip. Looking into their eyes, having them cry sitting on my lap begging me to take them back home for Christmas, asking me to ask their kids to let them go home, having them tell me mine was the first hug they'd had that year...and more, has left an indeliable impression upon me. I know your words my fiend, and they hold too much truth. Thanks for sharing. jwesley |

Such a revealing write about what is wrong with so many. It makes me think. It should make so many do the same. Great poem. You have so accomplished your mission. Thank you. Roger |

Sir Robert, You always know how to hit the mark on social issues. My wife is a companion for the elderly and we have many wonderful experiences as a result of such enrichment to our lives. |
