“WALKING IN THE TWILIGHT”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
I went for a walk yesterday
when the sun went down,
on the path that travels
through the darkness of
the forest…
As I walked alone, I entered
a clearing, surrounded by
giant redwoods, majestic in
being, and I could see the
shadows of them touching
the ground, as the breeze
moved and caressed
their limbs…
Foreboding I sensed, but
even though I walked with
them surrounding me, I
knew He was there
to protect, for I am,
His creation…
So I walked through the
darkness, and the shadows
of the forest, as I have so
many times before, only now
unafraid, for I was walking
with Him, together,
walking in the twilight…
*sigh* I love to walk at twilight. The vision you gave me of you walking through the redwoods was stunning. I once wrote a Dream Weaver poem about love in the Redwoods. *sigh* simply magical. Yes, you will always have Him at your side. **hugs**
Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
Bill...This is a wonderful write!
Reminded me of that song..."You'll Never Walk Alone."  One of my favourites....I could just picture you walking out there among the giant redwoods.  Fantastic!
Walking walk God is the best walk in the world.  As it says in scripture, we will fear no evil.  Very very worthy poem to read.  Roger
Bill,
Walking in the twilight with God . . .
Sounds so peaceful.
Very lovely thought.
Beautiful ... what wonderful imagery with the redwoods ... I could just see the scene in my head.  It's always awesome just to know that we are never alone.  He is definitely with us for always.  Nice write.  Thanks for sharing.
Although I'm not a religious person and don't connect to the 'Him', I can see it gave you peace writing as you did and you did it very well Sir
Hi Bill,
Wonderful imagery in this beauty, and thank you for reminding me that I am not walking through life alone because sometimes I forget, enjoyed so much.
Bill,
Used to live in Fortuna, CA. Too briefly! Love those Redwoods and their image they portray of Him! And loved your poem.
Bill this is utterly utterly wonderful. It speaks so clearly of the peace and comfort that is only found from walking in HIS light.
Absolutely perfect, this is truly outstanding.
The redwoods are an awesome, daunting lift to our imagination that we are only but a speck in the magnificence of His glory, but for all of that, he has allowed us to grace His creation with our good words...
write on Bill, and Merry Christmas!
