Wings of a Poet

Thought comes to surface the crest of the sea
From depths of infinity’s fathoms below
Dividing it’s splendor that now comes to be
Among little boats that embark in the flow

Each boat is a word in the afternoon sun
Skimming the waters, caressing the waves
Then lined up in order, the songs yet unsung
Little white sails falling into a phrase

The phrase is a thread of contentment that floats
On white wings of silk on horizons of red
Pieces of thought carried off by the boats
From depths of the mind, yet uncharted, unsaid

Phrase after phrase swept by currents and wind
Unknown to the pen which direction to bend
Until all the phases pour out from within
Each row is a fragment, each boat is a friend

Soaring to space, lifting off from the sea
Each verse a sonata in rhythms and rhyme
The sails of the little boats, silk feathers free
White wings of a dove in the crimson of time

A beautiful vision of the sea of Tranquility.
I was captured and held prisoner but escaped by the awe of magic which your words held.
Indeed beautiful.

I love this, and will keep it to re-read whenever I think I am in danger of drowning in life's misery.
