Withered On The Vines

You were such a beautiful distraction to the cold world around me
For a while there the rain was something I could live under
I felt I could challenge any storm out there in the world
And, I just laughed at the lightening and dared the thunder...

I just hate when reality hits me as hard as stones
There's nothing like a mirror's image to remind yourself
Then you're forced to look at what you thought you were hiding from
Oh, but I just can't tell you how good the distraction felt...

Now, in the blink of an eye, the waters have become deeper and deeper
Not a single thing here to keep the tides from taking me away
So very gone with the winds on it's journey to only God knows where
My happiness just withered on the vines all in a day...

And, my head hangs in the same way right before they're about to let go
Losing grip but at the same time holding on for a little more time
It doesn't take long to find yourself becoming small to the eyes
Then, before long, there's not a single dream that remains on that vine...

That's where you can find me in the middle of nowhere somewhere
But, you won't find me carrying a load of courage on my back
This time, if your eyes do see a tiny glimpse of me
I'll be clinging to the memory of the vine that wasn't meant to last...

Let me whisper, unlike the winds, that so loudly came through
The words, that not even I, can define
All I know is that they resemble the act of sadness
And, not even victory can ever hang onto those vines...

So, why do I fight when my end result it won't be you?
That vine was strong but it died like everything does
I was really a part of it for only a moment or two
But, I was never really there long enough...

(big hugggssssss) Sometimes we're just not meant to hang on the vine long enough, but as long as you listen to your heart and believe in what you felt and envisioned that you dream of, you can always find your loving spirit soar high above the vines with even just a little charge of courage and into your own personal heaven within the heart. (smiles) We all love you so much, sweet friend, dreams can come true, and I know with all my heart yours will, sweet friend! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet Saunni, you are an angel to us all! You have suhc a beautiful heart, sweet Saunni, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

the vine is as only as strong as we make it. . . and the fight is never over. . .

well done my friend. . .

I like the rhythm of this, the meter.  Neatly constructed.

So, why do I fight when my end result it won't be you?

Very good.

I am sitting here in tears.  This is so uncanny.  That's all I can say right now. It's about a poem I wrote about a vine, and one that withered...God, this is unreal.

Mistletoe Angel, You always have something beautiful to say! Must be why " Angel " is part of your name   You can bet this person I write of will always have the biggest place here in my heart. There's just those few in life that can touch the deepest part of us, and for some unknown reason, not even our dreams are strong enough to give us what we want. But... he gives me my own special dreams. One, he's giving me a chance at a better future for myself. Two, he's an answer to a prayer I think I've asked God for a million times or more. You know...the angelic kind   He is my friend and for that I think I can go almost anywhere. Thanks for reading my poem. I love you all, too!

Sven, " the vine is as only as strong as we make it...the fight is never over..." So true, John, but I can honestly say he's ending my constant fight in life...and is very willing to make sure I don't have to go through another lifetime of it...and bless his heart for doing that for me   Thanks, Sven, for taking the time to read this.

Mirror Man, I have come to accept some things for the sake of what reality is but once a person touches my heart like he has... I can't give up on returning the gift. Somehow, I will manage to do just as he has. I think then he will look at what I see through my eyes and see just why falling isn't as hard when someone is there to catch you. Thanks so much!

Irish Rose, I really don't know what to say either. Beyond cool though, huh? I wrote of what I felt and that's how I felt. I believe our thoughts and feelings connect with others... that it just seems we have all felt this withered vine before in some way...Don't cry, My Friend, sometimes the "uncanny" can be a message that someone out there knows exactly what you've been handed in life. It's a good thing. You have a good heart, Sweet One...

Thanks, Robert A, just is me... Thank you for reading.

Saunni,
These words aren't withered;
they soar.
