I know this must be hard for you to do.

He looked me in the eyes and said I`m not ready yet.

Now will you please give me back my damn cigarette.

Rogue,thank you so much for the kind words.My husband has quit at least 4 or 5 times.Everytime he starts back he smokes more.

Juanita, When I read this, I knew you were talking about Steve.
As you know, my late husband died of lung cancer...and he had not been a smoker for almost 30 yrs. But my sister was a chain smoker and had a horrible time quitting.
Like Steve, she quit several times, and each time she went back to it, she smoked even more.
Well, when my late husband was very very sick, just before he passed on...she came to visit us, and when she saw him, she immediately quit smoking.
You need to take Steve to the hospital to visit some people who are dying of lung cancer....that should cure him of smoking
FOREVER!!!!!

Hey, I think I know this poem ... I've been there before ... and am dealing with this as well. My sweet darling heart claims that he wants to quit, and that he will quit, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm going to show this to him. I'm sure that he'll appreciate the humor.
And the fact that I'm not ready to give up yet

LOL, but this one rang a bell for me. I had that nasty habit for only a few years, but it took two tries to quit. I chewed a box full of straws and ate sugar free candy non stop for a week. And my poor nonsmoking room mate had to put up with Super Witch. I was downright mean spirited for over a week. Hold hands, have fun, run, hike, sing, swim...do whatever it takes. My dad died from emphysema, as did two other family members. It isn't a very glamorous way to go.

Don't pick on my daddy anymore.This was not nice.It was funny however.Definitely your best!Hes over 50 years old,the damage has already been done but I wish he would quit,that second hand smoke is a killer.
