Listen to the Breeze

I launched some words upon the breeze
Among the flowers, through the trees
They danced a dance and echoed slack
The last three words of love me back.

I sent them on the wind to free
Because they would not silent be.
They fired on my brain and tongue
And burned my mouth like pepper stung.

Although I am not infantile
My wit has gone to juvenile.
I hang naïve and don’t believe
The love I have, I can achieve.

It is a love of dreamers real
Beyond the real of age appeal
It is a love of residue
Only given to very few.

The all of what the echo lacked
Was could you, would you, love me back.

Would I ... could I ... love you back?

Why--I would love you in a sack ...
live in a palace or a shack
light of day or night so black
I'll engrave your name upon a plaque!!

Would I ... could I ... love you more?

Why--I would love you in a store
love you more than the day before
love you right down to your core
even if you roar when you snore!!

Would I ... could I ... love you still?

Why--I would love beyond until
love you like a dreamers thrill
in hot of summer or winters chill
If you were ill ... I'd be your pill!!

Would I ... could I ... love you then?

Why--I would love you there and back again
love you and your chinny chin chin
in a dragon's den or in Eden's glen
Love you till you say Amen!!

So should you ask ... Would I ... could I ... love you back?

Even though my rhymes might lack ...
For this stack--Dr. Suess might want to attack ...
So consider this a poetic pact ...
even should the moon crack ... Someone always loves you back!!

*winkiewinkie*

See how you inspire!!

JM,
Your poem was a delight, almost a fright.
You have turned my preen to phantom scheme
And I will see you in your dreams.

Your last line is the question every heart whispers as it gives its love... This is just beautiful, Seymour!!!

And rofg at JM's response... wistfulness just lost it to giggles. *G*
