Listening to every heart

Threaded Thoughts

~ how like a pen, ~
to act as a needle, a
syringe of words
          poking life’s blood
as it transfuses
~ thought to being heard ~

~ or as needle threaded, ~
       looping through
fabric’d lives of burlap or
           silk, piecing us
~ together, me and you ~

~ the eye seeing much ~
        in the weave and woof
of the give and take
              binding like a quilt
~ holding even the aloof ~

~ how silk can ~
        rent if not needled well
but when ‘tis done
        how soft a story’s tell,
cotton’s shift may be handed down
              from generation to
more, between hems of time,
         becoming
              stiff, or supple,
~ depending how stored… ~

~ look how a slender needle ~
       eyes silken thread
piercing a pearl
            appeasing sweet lace
winding the satin ‘round
               ~ a loved one’s face ~

~ coarser the thread ~
        longer its life
holding together
              through war
                     through strife
a military cap
       a rosary
              a flowered love
                   ~ a Bible for thee ~

~I know not if I am ~
       fabric or thread
but only know
that as if by silk led,
if words were all
                that bound me true,
you’ve sewn well
        ~ silken I love yous ~

Beautiful!  I love the imagery, and the last line is just so wonderful.

My goodness gracious, it must be something that is in your coffee that gives you this vivid imagination, but then again, I heard that special people were chosen to make us see things in a new light sometimes.  This is one of those times, and it was magic!
