In the space between moments

0 posted 2001-12-05 10:25 PM

I feel stillness- like brittle glass
Threatening to shatter
Over my agitated limbs--
It crawls into my corners
Beckoning with it’s silence
To listen.

I quiet myself-  my soul poised
Like a rainbowed soap bubble
Above the sharpness
Of my world-
And there I hear the melody
Fashioning itself
Only of nothingness.

I drift slowly- entangling myself
In the beauty of soundless air,
Feeling a radiating reverence--
And in a gentle epiphany
I understand the splendor
Of my own tranquillity.

Very moving and inspring.. like, why should people have to find it necessary to talk about bs when they can just shut up for one minute and comfortably share silence..

IN THIS SILENCE I BELIEVE!

Love is God. Love is war. Love is what your life is for.

Wow! You write with such power here. I could feel the tranquility seep into me as your poignant descriptions carried me from anxious "brittle glass" life into understanding of self and inner calm. And the lines:

"Like a rainbowed soap bubble
Above the sharpness
Of my world-"

I just love that! So much can be drawn from those three lines alone. Wonderful poem, my love. In inner tranquility may we all dwell

Silence is Golden. This poem shimmered in my gold-diggin' eyes...j/k I'm no "true" gold-digger in the manly sense, but I'll take my share of silent wealth any day. Spectacular prose!

Thank you all for your kind words, I'm glad you all recognize the loveliness of silence as I do.
