Everything he said was true Sadly I do confess Oh balladeer I envied you… The way that you impress But Surely I don’t sit around And constantly lament this For all my envy ran aground When I was your apprentice Please tell me that you still remember It was long ago But did you forget that December Memories must come and go… See though I had arrived to see you With such aspirations I left vowing NOT TO be you LOST!…my admiration You do recall the strip club right? The first place that you brought me You almost got us killed that night With lessons that you taught me… We’re very lucky that guy Manny Left each one of us still breathing When you slapped that dancers fanny And Stole money from her G- string What, that’s merely child's play? Granted, I was still a rookie… What about the second day When we set out to see your bookie Maybe lessons can be learned Through watching you place bets But I watched my last twenty burned When you bet on the Jets “Its matters not my boy!” you said, “There is much more in store, Sometimes you get dropped on your head But that’s what vodka’s for!” So back to your place we did walk A liquor stop for you and me And when both of us couldn’t talk I knew I had learned lesson three This went on for many days A reckless month indeed Until I tired of your ways The leisure, lust, and greed So bags I packed and home I flew My time with bally done There’s no way I would be like you!
