I know you all have probably heard this joke.. but I thought I'd throw it into poetry fashion just the same. Larry C. had been out huntin' chasin rabbits with his gun. Scarin all the forest folks and havin lots of fun. It didn't seem to matter that the holidays were near. Or that he was killin' all the little bunny's Christmas cheer. This is the time of season when the forest folks join force. They do nice things for thier neighbors, when they ain't eatin' em of course. Cause this time of year the weather makes the meals come far between. And a feast is what ya make it, is what they were thinkin' it would seem. The bunny told the possom, and the possom told the skunk. And the skunk then told the racoon who was hidin' in a tree trunk. Well someone told the grizzly though I'm not sure who it was. But soon the woods did echo and the forest was a buzz. Now' Larry C. was still a shootin' takin' pot shots at the trees. When the forest grew real quiet, you didn't even hear the breeze. Out from 'tween the bushes came the Grizzly mad and mean. And that Larry C. went running, splashin' through the frozen stream. He was prayin to the heavens, Lord please make the grizzly stop. And he made one final plead as to his knees he dropped. He put his little hands together and he sent up this earnest prayer. God if you are listening please make this a Christian bear. Larry couldn't bear to look now, not even did he peek. The forest had gone quiet, Then you heard the Grizzly speak. Lord, thank you for this food we are about to receive.... |
