There are days when quiet is fine And the voices need rest But sometimes I have to search For the one that makes it right In my plight to express. The multi-faceted voices within me Compete for the stage I long for an Operatic symphony From time to time The long notes holding up the house And shattering the hurt However my roots hold country twangs And bang deliberate drums In honesty Picking the grin homegrown within me Clearly ringing the bell within the valley As I ride the tide in various style I am not above contemporary The saws-all of methods done before And twittered into something recognizable Testing new sound Giving ground to unique But then there are days when nothing Nothing Will express my undress In revealing of the soul As only one could hit such notes And make you feel it in your bones Aching from the inside out. Give me her voice in my words Give me her strength to bend backwards All things that obstacle my vision Give me Aretha |

very nice tribute....although my choice would be different I can appreciate why your is what it is... Mine would probably be Ella.... ( chuckling) as usual... nicely woven and some good imagery... always a pleasure to read. |

Regina - You have such a wonderful talent for developing a theme and bringing it to a strong, clean close. I love that in you. |
